Part-Time Sales Associate Position - Open

Sales Associates are responsible for representing the Spruce Park Ranch brand and providing our customers with the best shopping experience possible. Position includes offering friendly service and product knowledge to help our customers create a home they love. We also provide a modest coffee area serving beverages and locally-made baked goods.

A few things regarding shifts:

• Our store is open five days a week:  Wednesday through Sunday. We are looking for candidates who can work three days per week (Wednesday - Friday) throughout the year plus additional shifts especially during peak season and vacation/shift coverage on weekends
• Peak season is late August through early December. Must be available during the day weekdays and occasional weekends
• Our store is not open in the evenings, but sometimes we work later receiving product, filling online orders, or working on set up (not required but an option)
• We are also closed from mid December until end of January/early February. During this time, there may be occasional shifts for inventory, set up, receiving product, and/or rearranging the store

We are looking for someone who is:

• Over 18 years of age
• Friendly, self-motivated, and vibrant 
• Respectful and customer-focused 
• Possess a positive, can-do attitude 
• Loves home décor
• Likes to have fun!
• Enjoys a beautiful, rural farm setting over the city (we're less than 8 minutes from Spruce Grove)
• Has merchandising or set up experience (is an asset but is not required)
• Strong communication and listening skills 
• Familiar with Point of Sales systems (Shopify a bonus but not required)
• Has basic computer skills
• Able to work Wednesday - Friday during the day (required). Occasional weekends may be asked during peak season or to cover for another associate. We are flexible when things come up or if hours need to be slightly adjusted for family
• Wants to learn basic barista skills for our coffee area

Qualifications: 

• Experience in retail preferred but not required
• A talent for establishing rapport with customers and offering exceptional service
• Proficient on POS systems or willingness to learn. iPad and PC computer knowledge valued
• Availability to work three days per week (Wednesday - Friday) and the odd weekend throughout the year
• Availability to work additional shifts during inventory, set up, and peak season. This could included days we are closed but hours are flexible!
• Ability to lift/move stock weighing up to 50 lbs
• Organizational skills

Responsibilities (training will be provided):

• Greet customers and make them feel at home
• Answer any questions the customers may have
• Assist customers in preparing their orders at check out
• Clean work area as needed to maintain a tidy work environment
• Light barista duties
• Daily cleanup, restocking, and tidying of the store
• Pricing and helping to receive product
• Help with displays or stocking of shelves if required
• If merchandizing is a skill set, assisting with seasonal set ups. If this is not a skill set, helping keep the merchandizers organized and bringing supplies. Both equally important roles!
