Spruce Park Ranch was founded in 1964 by Les Trautman. He started his homestead growing crops and raising healthy beef.
Over the years, the farm grew to include more livestock including, what we are famously known for, Katahdin Hair Sheep. The sheep were originally brought home by Les as a present for his wife, Marilyn, and children Karen and Bradley. Little did he know that those three sheep were the catalyst for an entrepreneurial family to start something even more grand.
In 1998, Spruce Park Ranch Country Store was formed to keep up with demand for our local products. Today, it has become a beloved little store in the heart of Parkland County, and the farm has even been honoured by the county for being an active farming family, on the original homestead, for over 100 years going back to Les’s grandfather.
Billowing with modern country décor and absolutely heavenly scents, people now arrive from all over to add the perfect touches to their home or to find just the right gift for someone special.
If the hustle and bustle of the big box store just isn’t your thing, come and spend some time in the heart of the county with friendly staff in a homey, welcoming environment.
"The store is a delight for the senses. The staff are friendly and helpful. The product selection and creative displays are excellent."

"Every time I walk into Spruce Park Ranch it’s like being transported back in time. The items and displays evoke so many memories of happy times as a child spending Christmas with Grandma, Grandpa, and all my siblings."
